Les Artisanales is a trade fair dedicated to craftspeople and the arts and crafts, held every year in Dole, in the Jura. Organised by the Association for the Promotion of Arts and Crafts (APMAA), the event brings together around sixty exhibitors at the Manège de Brack: upholsterers, instrument makers, potters, ceramicists, master glassmakers, textile designers, painters and many others. Over four days, visitors can watch demonstrations of craftsmanship, take part in creative workshops and purchase unique pieces. At the same time, around twenty artisans from Dole are opening their workshops in the town centre, offering a tour to discover local talent.
Each edition brings together around 60 artisans and professionals in the arts and crafts sector, carefully selected for the quality and originality of their work. Visitors can discover a wide variety of disciplines:
Tapestry and textiles: textile designers, weavers, embroiderers
Instrument making: the creation and restoration of musical instruments
Ceramics and pottery: functional and decorative pieces
Glass art: stained glass, art glass, fusing
Painting and graphic arts: traditional and contemporary techniques
Woodwork, leatherwork and metalwork: cabinetmaking, leather goods, artistic ironwork
Open studios in the town
To complement the fair, around twenty artisans from Dole open their studios to the public for several days. A tour route is available to explore the town and discover the work of local creators first-hand: a unique way to immerse yourself in the heart of Dole’s artisanal life.
